Dulu Bitcoin lahir buat ngelawan sistem. Sekarang? Dia malah diajak rapat sama sistem. Kalo Bitcoin itu manusia, mungkin sekarang dia lagi duduk di meeting room Wall Street sambil ngetik notulen.

Satoshi ninggalin whitepaper kayak ninggalin surat cinta yang isinya: “Gue cabut dulu ya, urusin sendiri.” Tapi yang diurus malah jadi semacam koin emas digital yang diperjualbelikan sama korporat sambil dikeloni sama ETF.

2. Cypherpunk dan Bitcoin: Cinta Lama Belum Kelar

Cypherpunk itu kumpulan orang-orang yang percaya bahwa kode bisa menyelamatkan dunia. Mereka doyan enkripsi, anti pengawasan, dan kalau ngopi harus sambil diskusi konspirasi.

Satoshi entah siapa, tapi dia pasti ngumpul bareng mereka. Dia bikin Bitcoin bukan biar bisa dibeli lewat PayPal, tapi buat ngasih alternatif dari sistem uang yang dikendalikan pihak ketiga.

“Not your keys, not your coins.” Itu bukan quote random, itu prinsip hidup versi blockchain.

3. Zaman Batu Bitcoin: 2009–2012

Mining? Pakai laptop kentang. Transaksi? Barter sama pizza. Wallet? Harus download full node. Saat itu, punya 1000 BTC itu kayak punya kelereng. Lucu aja, belum tentu berharga.

Komunitas kecil, saling support, dan belum ada influencer yang nawarin airdrop kalau follow IG mereka.

4. Bitcoin Naik Panggung (2013–2017)

Mt. Gox jadi kayak pasar malam Bitcoin. Sering rame, kadang ilang. Exchange mulai muncul, dompet makin gampang, developer open-source mulai rajin commit.

Media mulai melirik. Investor retail masuk. Tapi vibe rebel masih ada, kayak band indie yang baru punya satu EP.

5. Institusi Masuk: Bitcoin Ganti Baju

2017 ke atas, Bitcoin mulai “disekolahkan.” Masuk ETF, dibeli MicroStrategy, jadi legal tender El Salvador. Mining jadi lahan korporat, ASIC dimana-mana.

Cypherpunk minggir, Wall Street maju. Tapi, masihkah ini Bitcoin yang sama?

Bitcoin udah gede. Tapi bukan berarti lo harus ikut sistem baru yang nyempil di balik jas Armani. Lo bisa tetap pake dompet non-custodial, edukasi orang terdekat, dan terus pegang kendali aset lo sendiri.
